Obituary For Rex T. Smith
REX T. SMITH
Age 89, of McCandless Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, August 28, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty (Stoecker) Smith, his children Sharon Martino (Gary), Rex (Connie), Scott (Jasmin), Jeff, and Todd (Tara) Smith; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Almira Smith; his brothers, Charles and George Smith; and his grandson, Rex M. Smith.
Rex was a veteran of the US Army and served the North Side community as a funeral director for over 50 years. In 1972 he moved the funeral home, started by his father, to its current location at 2860 Perrysville Avenue.
Family and friends are welcomed at the Rex T. Smith Funeral Home, 2860 Perrysville Ave., North Side on Wednesday 6-8 pm and Thursday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Union Dale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
