Obituary For John C. Steigerwald “Stag” C. Steigerwald "Stag"
John Charles Steigerwald, age 66, a lifelong resident of the North Side, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2023. Survived by his high school sweetheart of over 50 years, Marianne (Bray), proud father to his devoted son Nick, loving brothers Richard (Michelle), Kurt (Kathy), sister-in-law Marilyn Steigerwald, many nieces and nephews, and numerous loyal and steadfast friends – all of whom surrounded John in his final days regaling him with stories from the glory days.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul J Steigerwald II and Mary Alice Steigerwald, brothers Paul J. Steigerwald III and George Steigerwald.
A 1975 graduate of North Catholic High School, John followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, father, and brothers, becoming a Steamfitter that same year. He was a dedicated Steamfitter for 44 years with many accomplishments in Steamfitters Local #449.
John enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on motorcycles and cars, and collecting vintage radios. If it had an engine or moving parts, John could fix it!
Family and friends are welcomed THURSDAY 2 -8 pm at the Rex T. Smith Funeral Home, 2860 Perrysville Ave, North Side.
