Our Beginnings :

Rex T. Smith Funeral Home

In the beginning back in 1912 first generation owner George Smith opened his doors on the North Side of Pittsburgh. The location of the first funeral home was directly across from where Allegheny General Hospital is at today. George, owned and operated the funeral home for 55 years before passing the business to his son Rex.

Second Generation:

Rex T. Smith Funeral Home

After his fathers passing in 1967, Rex Smith, George’s youngest son opened his doors. Moving a few miles north from lower north side to upper where the funeral home still exits today.
